GUMDROP NOUGAT CANDY
I absolutely love and have always loved Brach's Nougat Candy. Now I make it myself and it is a very close approximation of the real thing.
It is Christmas time so I got the red and green Dot’s and used those in my nougat candy this time. This is really a colorful and good recipe. Whip up a batch this weekend and see for yourself!
I love gumdrop nougat candy. Brach’s makes them and I used to buy them all the time. Just a few pieces as I didn’t want to have too much sugar in my diet. This recipe is a close approximation of Brach's Nougats.
GUMDROP NOUGAT CANDY
INGREDIENTS:
1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
2 Cups White Chocolate Chips
10 oz. Mini Marshmallows
1 Box Dots, quartered
DIRECTIONS:
Cut the Dots into quarters and place them back into the box they came in.
Line a square pan with parchment paper.
In a metal or glass bowl, mix the butter, white chocolate and mini marshmallows. Place this pan over a pot of boiling water and stir until they become all smooth and mixed together.
Mix in the Dot quarters and stir to distribute.
Flatten out the mix and let cool for 2 hours in the refrigerator. Cut into pieces and serve. I store mine in a mason jar in the refrigerator until I am ready to serve them.
NOTE:
If you were a lover of those Brach’s Nougats then these are pretty close to those in appearance, taste and texture.
