PIZZA SAUCE PIZZA HUT COPY CAT
Pizza—who doesn’t love it?!
One of my very first jobs as a kid was making pizza, and now I still love making it at home. Over the years, I’ve tried all kinds of sauces, but this one is hands-down my absolute favorite pizza sauce. It’s super easy to make, and if you let it sit overnight, the flavors blend beautifully and it’s even better the next day.
I absolutely love the Pizza Hut sauce. I found this recipe years ago and it is absolutely amazing. It tastes so good on pizza or as a bread dipping sauce too!
INGREDIENTS:
1 15 oz can Tomato Sauce
¼ Cup Water
1 teaspoon Sugar
¼ teaspoon Oregano, dried
¼ teaspoon Basil, dried
¼ teaspoon Thyme, dried
¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
¼ teaspoon Salt
⅛ teaspoon Black Pepper
1 Whole Bay Leaf
½ teaspoon Lemon Juice
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
Cook over medium heat until sauce starts to boil.
Lower heat and simmer, covered for 30 to 45 minutes or until sauce is as thick as you like it.
Makes enough for two pizzas.
NOTE:
You can make this in a large batch and freeze it or can it.
